Hello and welcome everybody to the very first episode of Treeline Tutorials.
In this series I will go over all the basic things you should know before you queue up for your first ranked game.
In this video, we will only look at the map layout
and some different playstyles.
Before we get into this however, I would like to advice you
to take a look at the description and see if any
information given in the video has changed.
In the description, you will also find links to the sources that I've used.
If you would like some more in-depth information about subjects from the video
I recommend you visit these websites.
Now, with all that out of the way,
let's get right into the tutorial
As you all maybe know, the Twisted Treeline is the second classic League of Legends map
And although it looks a lot different from Summoners Rift,
There are still a lot of similarities
Both teams have a Nexus, Nexus turret
And two lanes.
Each lane than has its own outer, and inner-turret
Inhibitor, and inhibitor turret
The table on screen, shows all the base stats
of the four different turrets on the map.
There are two things that I would like to point out:
First of all, the base statistics of the outer turrets
are very, very weak.
Especially when you consider that the fortification passive that we see on the turrets on Summoners Rift
Does not apply on the turrets of the twisted treeline.
Getting an early 300-gold lead
and significant map pressure, is therefor not a hard thing to acquire.
Secondly, the nexus turret has a whopping
2.5 attack speed.
Meaning that the penetrating bullets passive will stack up very quickly
resulting in very high DPS.
That's why tower diving under this turret
usually doesn't end very well.
The next subject on our list is the jungle.
The jungle consists of three neutral camps
Spawning at 1:05 minutes into the game.
After clearing them
the camps take 75 seconds (1:15 minutes) to respawn.
2:30 Minutes into the game
a 'ghost relic' spawns in between the two jungles
This relic restores a significant amount of HP
and mana.
The relic respawns 1:30 minutes after it has been taken.
At the same time that the relic spawns
The altars, located in the middle of the jungle, unlock.
Capturing an altar takes 9 seconds
so if you want to recall whilst capturing it
you need to keep in mind that first, you have to wait 1 second
before casting your recall.
Capturing an altar grants every member of your team
80 gold.
additionally,
Controlling an altar grants your team
bonus mana regeneration and +10% movement speed.
If you also managed to capture the other altar
you are granted a buff
that restores 1% of you max. HP
upon killing a minion or monster
Before getting into playstyles
there is one more element on the map that I would like to discuss
Vilemaw
Vilemaw is often referred to as the Baron Nashor
of the Twisted Treeline
And for good reason.
Killing vilemaw grans all living players on your team
a buff called crest of crushing wrath.
This buff makes it possible to move through units.
Additionally,
Allied minions terrorize nearby enemy minions
and their statistics are greatly increased.
Keep in mind that unlike the Baron Nashor buff
This buff doesn't actually increase champion statistics.
Killing Vilemaw
usually allows your team to kill an inhibitor or finish the game.
But keep in mind, just like Baron Nashor
Vilemaw can often lead you to eventually lose a winning game.
To minimize the damage taken from Vilemaw while taking it,
make sure your team is positioned well
One person of your team, usually the tank,
should stand as close as possible to Vilemaw
either or the very right or very left side.
This way
most of the AOE damage is fired in his direction.
Which means that the rest of the team
won't take any unnecessary damage.
You should naw have a broad idea of the layout of the twisted treeline
and the importance of its components.
Now with that in mind
let's move on to the playstyles that you might encounter.
The most standard playstyle
that you might encounter on the Twisted Treeline
is called the 'Jungle Meta'.
Your typical team-comp consists of an AD toplaner,
a tank jungler and an AP-mage on botlane.
This is the most logical and standard playstyle
since its pretty similar to the one that's maintained on Summoners Rift.
In the description I've linked a tier list
that shows the champions that are currently performing best
for a specific position.
The playstyle that you are most likely to find in higher elo
is called the support meta.
As the name suggests,
This composition consists of a support,
a carry and an AP-botlaner
The idea behind this playstyle
is to channel as much as possible resources into the carry
So he can dominate the enemy team.
This can be realised
by letting the carry take both toplane and jungle cs and experience.
To gain the most out of the jungle camps
the carry always needs to take smite and build the first part
of the jungle item.
The support is there to help the carry farm
and provide him with shields and cc during teamfights
I would say that this playstyle is harder to properly execute
but is stronger overall.
We have now covered all the basic subjects that you should be aware of
before committing to the Twisted Treeline.
If you guys liked this tutorial, and would like me to go into further detail on specific subjects
please let me know.
This is for me the first time of doing a tutorial of this kind.
If you have any tips or feedback, please leave it in the comments below.
And for the people that are new to my channel
and would like to learn more about the Twisted Treeline,
I try to regularly upload replays of high elo gameplay.
