That day long ago
I wanted to embrace my Dad
Hearing him sadly cry,
“I can’t go on anymore” Hearing him sadly cry,
“I can’t go on anymore”
It was through him that today our dreams could come true
After all that time, I finally understand
What my “Dad” wanted to say
I still remember that voice,
saying to me,
“ My son you will take with you, a part of me”
Days went by when he was hungry
To give us the food
That he himself couldn’t live He fought hard to give us the life
That he himself couldn’t live
And all the work that he did
Gave us very little to survive
But in his eyes he was proud,
Of the life he provided
Without taking anything from anyone
I still remember that voice saying to me...
“ My son you will take with you, a part of me”
That tiring road traveled
For everything that has passed
Showed the scars of a life
That time never forgave
And I always have the memory
Of his own way of saying
With a look that was in his eyes
And all I want to tell him
is thank you Dad
I still remember that voice saying to me,
“ My son you will take with you, a part of me”
“ My son you will take with you...
...a part of me”
