[You-sun] Let's now get an update on the weather by going over to our Lee JeeHyun at the weather
center Hello there, JeeHyun.
[JeeHyun] Good afternoon, Mark and You-sun Well, I have some bad news about the snow
we received yesterday. It had an acid level of 4.4, which is 15 times
higher than normal.
[Mark] Fifteen times? Wow, I guess we can't even let our kids make snowmen or have snowball
fights.
[JeeHyun] Well, it's probably not a good idea. And acid snow is worse than the acid rain,
so experts recommend that you use an umbrella if it's snowing and wash your hair right after
you get home. Well, it looks like people down south should
keep an umbrella handy. There is chance of up to 5 centimeters of
snowfall in Chungcheong-do and Jeolla-do. Well, we started out the day with freezing
cold temperatures and it should stay cold throughout the day, with highs below zero
in the central region.
We will have clear blue skies in most regions, but it won't give us any relief from the cold.
The best advice from experts for staying warm is to layer up and cover your head and hands.
We have another cold day in store for us tomorrow, with a chance of freezing drizzle in some
regions down south.
In fact, the bitter cold weather is expected to last through the weekend, but the cold
snap should ease up early next week.
But now, here are the readings for today. The high in Seoul will only get up to minus
2, while Daegu and Gwangju will climb to 2 and 3, respectively, and Busan will see a
high of 5 under sunny skies.
For other regions, Jeju get up to 8 in the afternoon, Daejeon will top out at negative
1 with a chance of rain and sleet, and a freezing cold day is in store for Mount Geumgang, which
will see a high of minus 12. That's all for Korea, and here's the global
forecast for viewers around the world.
