Why PETA?
With more than two million members and supporters, PETA is the largest animal rights organization
in the world. Every day, PETA works to end the animal abuse on factory farm, in laboratories,
in the clothing trade and in the entertainment industry. We do this through public education,
cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement
and protest campaigns. PETA campaigns, demonstrations and negotiations have led many big retailers,
such as: Liz Claiborne, Calvin Cline and Polo Ralph Lauren to become completely fur free.
PETA is there for companion animals whenever and wherever they need us. We handle hundreds
of cruelty to animals cases each month and we work to fight companion animal over population
through add campaigns- and providing over fifty thousand free of cost spay and neuter
surgeries. PETA scientist and researches are working around the clock to end horrific and
government incorporate animal experiments --and to develop and certify safer, more
effective, non-animal method and recourses. PETA investigations have revealed horrific
treatment of animals in circuses, zoos, rodeos and other forms of animal abuse in the name
of entertainment. The fact is, animals do not naturally ride bicycles, stand on their
heads, balance on balls or jump through rings of fire. To force them to perform these confusing
and physically uncomfortable tricks, trainers use whips, tight collars, mussels, electric
prods and sharp metal bull-hooks; and the animals are either chained or confined to
their cages for their entire lives. PETA campaigners are constantly educating the public and working
to end these cruelties. PETA conducts undercover investigations that exploit animals and releases
footage of workers abusing and neglecting animals. PETA's factory farm investigations,
have not only spread awareness to the public, but have also helped to pressure cooperate
heavy weights, like Burger Kind and Safeway, to adopt better standards that will reduce
the suffering of millions of chickens, pigs, and other animals every year. Weather were
winning industry changing reforms for animals languishing on factory farms, convincing designers
and consumers to help stop the bloody fur trade or fighting to end horrific abuses to
animals behind closed laboratory doors, PETA's work for animals gets results and saves lives.
But we cannot do this work without generous donors like you. Please consider helping the
animals today. Animals are still too often, the least protected-yet the most abused souls
in this world. Billions of animals are suffering right now. Their cries are unheard, lingering,
agony and loneliness. There's still a lot of work to be done, and we can assure you
that your passionate gift will go exactly where it's suppose to-helping make this
world a kinder place for animals all around the world. Thank you from all of us here at
PETA and on behalf of all these animals for whom we advocate.
