Hello. My name is Ms. Daniel. I am going to be your Algebra 1 teacher. In this video,
I am going to show you how to access the videos associated with your online Algebra 1 textbook.
These videos are here for you to watch if you have any questions on the lesson or topic
that we have been working on in class. These videos provide step by step instructions
on how to solve problems addressed in each lesson.
Videos are available any time and can be accessed whenever you need them.
To get to the website, first you go to your address bar for whatever web browser you choose
to use. I am using Google Chrome. Type in the website my.hrw.com. Type in your
username and password that has been provided for you. Then click log in.
The next page you will see is titled "My Subscriptions". You will see a picture of a red Holt Algebra
1 textbook. Click on the blue link to the right of the
book that says Go to the Online Textbook. The next page shows all the features available
with your online textbook. At the top, are two drop down bars for you
to select the chapter as well as lesson you are working on. I am going to choose Chapter
1 lesson 1. Underneath the drop down bars are red tabs.
Click on the videos and activities tab. In the middle of the page you will see a section
labeled lesson tutorial video. For each lesson, there are videos where Holt
authors explain every example in the student edition. Choose which lesson you want to see
and click the link. A window will pop up with your selected video.
You will see the video of the Holt professor on the left, and the problem worked out step
by step on the right. You may pause, stop, rewind, or fast forward
the video at the bottom of the window. You can also adjust the volume if needed.
Once done watching the video, you may close the window and watch another video if you
choose.
These videos will be available throughout the course and you can use them anytime you
need to. Hopefully they will be a great resource for you to use.
