In this video, we will learn how to access e-Books for ECE via Primo at the University of Guelph-Humber.
In order to begin this process you will want to be on the University of Guelph-Humber's library homepage.
Scroll down and click Best Resources for Early Childhood Education
Then click the tab labeled Books and e-Books
Click the link for Primo
At this point you will be asked to login with your University of Guelph Central Login. This is the same as your GryphMail.
In this example, we will look for e-Books about Infant Development.
As you can see, there are many books available on this topic. However, as we only want e-Books, we will have to limit our search by clicking online resources located under Show Only.
Then scroll down to click Book under Resource Type.
To access an e-Book, you can click on the title, but it is preferable to click the link labeled Online Resource.
This will provide you with the ability to open the resource in a new window.
Once in the e-Book, you will be able to browse by chapters and search for specific terms within the book.
In this example, we will search for instances of the word Prenatal.
You should note that as with online journal databases, the methods to access and use an e-Book may differ between one another.
For information about e-Books or other library materials related to Early Childhood Education, you can contact your Liaison Librarian.
