Capture One Pro 7 has numerous ways to search for and locate images
in your catalog or session.
Filtered images are always displayed in the thumbnail browser.
The library tool temp contains the Filters tool
which is useful for global searches or groupings.
To filter by this method the images need to have had color tags
or star ratings applied to them.
Ratings and color tags can be added in either the viewer or the thumbnail
browser with the method being the same.
Simply click on the box icon to select a color tag and click.
Press on a dot to star rate an image from one to five.
Multiple images that are selected in the thumbnail browser
can be star rated in one action by pressing a numerical key from one to five.
Use zero to remove it.
Notice in the Filters tool that each rating and color tag
has a numerical value to the right of it.
This represents how many images fulfill that criteria.
Clicking to the right of the number will then filter the results
shown in the thumbnail browser that match that criteria.
The filter results' value is also shown on the thumbnail browser menu bar.
Option click other parameters to activate more than one filter.
Click the orange dot to deactivate the filter.
Follow this operation to filter by other criteria such as by key words.
To add more filters to the Filters tool click on the action icon
at the top of the tool.
Select Show/hide filters and subsequently check the options
that you want to add to the Filters tool.
Insert text into the top of the thumbnail browser or in the Filters tool.
The results will change in the browser as you type.
Adding multiple words will produce a search with the resulting images that contain one
or all of the inserted search terms.
This includes the file name and any meta data field.
To create and save a custom filter, click on the icon next to
the search criteria field.
The following dialogue box will appear.
Add custom fields by clicking on the plus icon and choose criteria from the drop-down menus.
Note at the bottom of the dialogue that the search criteria can be transformed
automatically into an album or a smart album.
