My name's Gannon O'Reilly. I'm a Business Marketing major at the University of Michigan-Flint
and President of the Entrepreneurs Society. We got involved with Habitat back in 2011
and have been working the past year to develop a work/live home model. The basic concept
is that they'll have commercial footage on the bottom and residential footage on the
top providing the resident not only opportunity to be a homeowner but the opportunity to be
a self-sufficient small business owner. I feel that as someone who's getting their education
in Flint, it's important to give back and being involved with this project has really
lent us the opportunity to get involved with our community and make a difference.
Hi, my name is Dion Boose and I'm a student at UM-Flint and a part of the Entrepreneurs
Society also and one of the reason why I wanted to get involved with this is that the community's
been good to me. I'm a student in Flint and I also wanted to give back and take advantage
of some of the things that the school has been able to give me and help out with the
community. Hi, my name's Tricia Moffitt. I'm the new
Habitat homeowner for this house. This is the first in the country for the work/live
space so this is very exciting--a home and an office in one. We're going to be having
Arrowhead Media as well as Little Miss Moffitt Photography here. The whole ground floor is
office space which will also be used as gallery. The basement is going to be a recording studio
so we have a lot going on here that I hope to see flourish.
