ALVIN DEDEAUX: There's a lot of different ways to carry your essential gear, the stuff
that you need all the time. Some people wear a vest with lots of pockets, you can put everything
you need right here where you can grab it, or some people will wear a *** pack or a
chest pack, but I really like to use the lanyard. If you fish in hot climates, it's really cool,
it's much cooler than wearing a vest or if you fish somewhere out of a boat and you have
to wear a life jacket, it's a lot easier to put this on over your life jacket than it
is to put a vest on it. And you can carry all the essential stuff and it's all just,
you know, within reach. I've got my clippers, my hemostats, my floating and even a small
fly box that I'll carry some of the flies that I use on a regular basis. I'll load flies
into this box out of my main boxes in the my tackle bag and if I decided to leave this
and walk off and wait, I've actually got some flies and other stuff in here so that I don't
have to go back to the bag every time. So that's a really good way to do it. And you
see a lot more people using these nowadays especially with people fishing in warmer conditions,
saltwater or fishing in the south for bass or especially if you have to wear a life jacket
and you're doing a float trip on a river discussing whitewater. This is a really good way to do
it, using the lanyard instead of the vest or a *** pack.
