Tharwat al-Khirbawy's new book titled "Secret of the Temple" has become a best seller in
Egypt. The Egyptian lawyer and former member of the Muslim Brotherhood writes about the
hidden radicalism within the religious group. The Muslim Brotherhood itself calls the book
a smear campaign.
The book's success indicates the deeply felt mistrust that many Egyptians feel towards
the Islamic organization. Information about the inner workings of the group remain obscure
from the general public even after many months following President Mohamed Mursi rise to
power. In its 12th printing, "Secret of the Temple" has become popular for its portrayal
of extremism inside the brotherhood.
The book has fueled a media war in the deeply divided Egyptian political terrain. One Muslim
Brotherhood leader reportedly rejected the book as full of "fallacies".
Khirbawy was expelled from the Muslim Brotherhood more than a decade ago. Since its formation
and growth in government, the Brotherhood has splintered Egyptians. Speaking with Reuters,
Khirbawy said "I want to make all people know the reality about the Brotherhood".
German citizen Ralph Napierski got past one checkpoint on his way to the Vatican's Paul
VI Hall for a scheduled meeting of Cardinals before guards wised up and escorted him out.
Mr. Napierski dressed himself in phony bishop vestments including a purple sash that was
simply a scarf while he mingled around the courtyard.
At the time the meeting was held, Cardinals planned to discuss the various challenges
the Church is facing and to review possible candidates for the new Pope. It seems that
no one caught on even while he posed for photographs with Cardinal Sergio Sebiastiana. Calling
himself Bishop Basilius from the non-existent Italian Orthodox Corpus Dei order, the impostor
mingled around the square before security guards finally figured out he was a fake.
His black fedora hat and purple scarf were the obvious give aways as most elderly bishops
wear a small red skullcap and a red sash. Note that Ralph is no ordinary imposter.
According a website attributed to Corpus Dei, "Bishop Ralph Napierski comes out of a tribe
of the Roman Catholic Church that is fighting the heresy and false movements inside the
Roman Catholic Church." Mr. Napierski is also a proponent of "Jesus Yoga" and has stated
that he has invented ""a system to enable persons to control computers with the power
of thoughts".
