Have a window screen with a hole that is three inches of smaller? Patching it is a breeze;
when you know what to do. Here's what you need:
needle nose pliers, scissors,
a screwdriver,
rubber cement or clear nail polish, and finally on of these, a screen patch.
Patches comes in different sizes so you want to make sure yours is at least a
half-inch larger than the hole you are fixing.
Start by trimming any unravel threads or wire around the edge of the hole.
Then take your patch and unweave one or more rows of screen wire so it looks
like this.
Next, layer patch over the hole.
Align the strands from a patch with the strands of the screen, and gently weave the loose
ends of the patch into the mesh of the screen.
You can use your needle nose pliers to pull the strands through.
Do that on all four sides
so it looks like this.
Finally secure the edges with clear nail polish or rubber cement.
And there you go no more bugs bugging into the hole in your windows screen.
