This week was really tough. I worked a tremendous amount of hours and, =
unfortunately, when that happens it's really hard for me to get my =
training in. So I think I got two days, maybe three, of training. But =
what I was able to do was accommodate my calories. I bumped my calories =
down by a meal or two even on those days to make sure that I wasn't =
overeating, over-consuming, and as a result I think I dropped a little =
fat. I'm actually not going to measure this week because I don't want to =
see the results right now. I think I'll wait another week. So this =
upcoming week I'm going to make sure I get sleep. That has been tough, =
really tough. There were a few nights that I only got four hours, three, =
five. It was pretty tough overall. I haven't done any cardio at all, =
also because of my work schedule. But that happens and I feel pretty =
good about things right now. I'm still nine weeks out, so because of =
where I'm starting I feel better about this year than I did last year, =
so I think I'm in pretty good shape even with the bumps and bumps that I =
had this week. I think having a really supportive family is huge, =
whether thats... you know, for me it's my family. For other people, if =
it's friends or relatives of any sort that can support you on your =
journey, I think that makes a huge difference. So that certainly makes =
it easier. Well, nine weeks out right now I'm not too stressed yet, but =
I will be, for sure. I think it really doesn't matter how many times I =
do this. I still get the butterflies. I still get pretty excited and =
still get really nervous. I don't think that'll ever go away no matter =
how old I am. I'll be 65 on stage and I'll still be nervous about this. =
So, yeah, it hasn't hit yet but it will. I'm guessing somewhere around =
the six-week mark I'll start getting kind of nervous again. =
Interestingly enough, you know, this week where I didn't do any cardio =
at all--I did absolutely none--I was still able to drop body fat and =
maintain my muscle mass. I didn't really lose any weight so that's =
pretty awesome, and that's the power of the weight training. I preach =
that, to women in particular, that weight training truly is the most =
effective way to drop fat, and keep muscle, and get into that--I call =
it--the crazy, sexy, awesome shape. But it's true, and I'm living proof =
of that and so are a whole bunch of women that I work with. So I'm just =
a huge, huge proponent of weight training. I mean, if there's anything =
when I leave this planet that I teach women is pick up the weights. =
You're not going to look like a guy. You're not going to blow up like a =
balloon and be huge. You're going to burn fat. Weight training is a =
tremendous fat burner that is just fantastic for women. So I think today =
we're going to be heading to the gym and we're going to do a leg =
workout, so let's go to the gym and see what it's all about.
