Tip:
Highlight text to annotate it
X
Hi it’s Jan from My Local Business Online and today I want to show you the Pro Quoter
plugin. It’s a free plugin for Wordpress and you can download it through the plugin
section on your dashboard. Pro Quoter easily creates quote images for you to use in your
blog posts or pages. The images are then available to share on social sites like Pinterest.
What you do is write your post and highlight the quote you want to create an image of.
It’s worth noting that once you’ve highlighted the quote, Pro Quoter will cut that piece
of text out, the text comes out of your post and into the image. I’ll show you what I
mean now. Here we are, I’ve put a quote in, I’ve
highlighted it and I’m going to create a quote image by clicking on this button. You
can quote to the left or quote to the right. So click the button and the pop up comes in.
The quote fills in and you can add the author in here. So obviously, if you want to use
lines of text from your own post, something you have said then you would be the author
or you can add a quote author in here. Now you can scroll down and choose the background.
Pro Quoter creates these quote images and quote pictures by using simple backgrounds.
You have a choice of 6 initially. You can select different images by clicking on the
button at the bottom until you find one you like or matches your blog post. Once that
you can read would be nice as well. Text like this isn’t particularly readable!
I’m not too sure how many quote pictures are here, but it seems to go on pretty much
indefinitely. Let’s go with the pink, let’s be girly and click use this image. And off
it goes, there’s our quote image. You can change this just like any other picture in
WordPress by clicking the image and clicking the image settings.
You can change the alignment and put in a title, which is good for your image SEO and
obviously your on-page SEO. The alternate text, you can either leave as the full quote,
which is a bit long or again, use your keywords. If you click on the advance settings, you’ll
see that the image is hosted at Pro Writing Aid, the creator of the Pro Quoter plugin.
So you can change any of these settings in here. If we preview this post, there’s our
picture which is now available to Pin or share. It’s a nice way of splitting up the walls
of text in your blog posts. I know as a service business, finding images that match what I
am saying and go with my services can be difficult sometimes. Quote images are very popular online
in the social sharing space. I wouldn’t put them in every post or every page but they’re
definitely and extra resource for you to use. I hope you enjoy it and do let me know if
you use Pro Quoter to create quote images on your blog.
