Hi! I’m Lachland Clarke on behalf of Expert Village. I would like to invite you to visit
our website at www.teamclarke.org. Because you want your mitts with you at all times,
everybody that runs distance sled dogs usually have a set of retainer strings commonly called
dummy strings and they work just like this. They go over the top of your neck, the string
is across your chest, your gloves hang down and you can adjust the length for your preference
and what you do when you are getting off to fix a tangle or put a dog *** back on,
neckline adjusting, tug lines or anything like that, you can your mitts and twist them
2 or 3 times behind your back. They are still with you but they are up and out of the way.
Your hands are free to work with your dogs in any way you need to and when you are done,
you get back on the sled, pull your snow hook, your team moves on and you can untwist the
mitts from behind your back and you have them right there to be able to put your hands back
in.
