There is a long, long story linking Audencia in Nantes and global responsibility.
This is because about 10 years ago at the Audencia School of Management,
a study was conducted to determine how to translate the school’s values to the level of daily life.
And these values of the school are at the forefront of our establishment.
They are multiple, a few of which are extremely strong: closeness, humanism, commitment, and responsibility.
From there it became quite natural, since we are a school of management, a school of business,
that global responsibility in businesses finds its most immediate application in all of our sectors of activity at Audencia.
And this is what has been done...in the past 10 years we have
created a research centre, welcomed teams, organised academic programmes, mobilised students, mobilised graduates, mobilised all of the school’s contributors.
And this is to ensure that the global responsibility that we bring into businesses
for which we are training our youth, be also shared within the school.
Another part of this story that became an institutional moment was in 2004
when the United Nations Global Compact, which was launched several months before, was signed by Audencia.
And Audencia in Nantes became the first school in France to sign the United Nations Global Compact.
Naturally, this has continued, since the Global Compact was translated, transcribed
into principles of responsibility for higher business management education.
Once again, Audencia, with its mobilised teams, ensures that we are very active players
in the creation of these principles, which we must apply within our school to enhance global responsibility.
If indeed we must be considered pioneers, maybe a little
like leaders, without doubt
in any case like a community that was seized with global responsibility,
and that believes that it is a major commitment in our present society.
