Alright, you're looking at the Gateway M-6885u 15.4" Notebook.
And I'll tell you what, this is a fantastic value.
If you're looking for a notebook that get's you back into college,
to go to school, for you're kids, for yourself, for pretty much anybody, this is a great laptop.
This is really great price and it's fully featured.
And when I say fully featured I mean literally.
It is one of those laptops that has every single thing you can possibly want
built into it right here.
Let's start off with some of the specifications. First of all, this is a home premium system.
So it does run Vista Home Premium. It has a 2 GHz Core 2 Duo processor. It's actually the T5750,
which is quite powerful. It's got 2 MB of L2 Cash, it runs at 2 GHz and has 667 MHz front side bus.
Now, beyond those 3 GB of RAM and a Core 2 Duo processor, it does have a 1.3 Megapixel webcam.
It does have a 320 GB hard drive. It does have a DVDRW drive that does Labelflash,
which is like Lightscribe. It's got HDMI outs, it's got a multimedia card reader,
it's got multimedia buttons at the top. A great keyboard, a great track pad,
and it's bright, bright red, in case you didn't noticed.
Take a look at the... Let me flip it this way.
Very, very red cover. Very nice red, with the slightest hint of metallic, in the paint.
Very, very slight metallic flake in there.
And this thing is really, really exceptional as far as value goes.
If you are on the market for something that's very average, 15.4", that's a great value,
this is gonna be right up you ally because again, it is fully, fully featured.
It's got almost anything you're gonna possibly want.
Now, let me give you a little tour of this thing before I recap a couple things.
Now, starting off over here, that's your Ethernet port.
So if you wanna wire in and not just use wireless, you can.
You have 2 USB 2.0s, this is where you're hot air comes out from the motherboard for the cooling.
Now over here, you got a multimedia card slot. With that you're gonna be able to do,
XD, SD, MMC, MS, MS pro, those are all gonna fit in there.
Right bellow it, I don't know if you can see that little tab right here,
but this is a space for a 54 millimeter ExpressCard.
So you can add in an EVDO card, or an HSDPA card. You can add in additional USBs.
Whatever you want. You can fit a bunch of stuff in there to make tons of peripherals.
Now right here is the button for your Wi-Fi. So if you want to turn you Wi-Fi off,
you just go like that. And you turn it off. Push it off and then push it right back on.
You do have Adle to 11 N on here. So you have N draft wire, 300 meters is how far it will go.
In the front, you have your headphone and your jack, for your microphone.
Now, that headphone is a regular headphone, or, it's also an S/PDIF headphone.
So you can output through a 5.1 channel cable if you have one to an external device driver dongle.
And that will let you split it up. So that's very nice to have.
Now, coming on over here,
you're gonna notice that you do have that DVD burner that I mentioned before.
It is Labelflash, so if you flip the disk once you're done with it,
and put it back on here, it's actually gonna make a high contrast image
on the other side of the disk. It looks extremely, extremely professional.
No one is gonna believe that you did that on your laptop, and that's right on here.
Now this will do CDs, DVDs, DVRWs, it will do dual layers, RAMs, ROMs, you name it,
it will do it, it will burn to it.
So this is a fully functioning, top of the line DVD burner that will do just about anything
that you want it to do. Moving down the line,
you're gonna see an additional USB 2.0 port right there. So that's 3 in total.
And now I'm gonna move you on to the back. Starting up over here, that is your 56K modem.
Yes, a 56K modem. And no, you're probably won't use it, but there is always a chance.
And we use these in Florida during hurricanes when the cable internet goes down,
that's still up. If you're phone lines are up, you still got your 56K. So that's great.
Right here is the battery. Normally I don't show the battery but this one is special.
This is a Six-Cell battery. So this is gonna last for quite a few hours.
Usually when you go from a 3-cell to a 6-cell, you increase your battery life by 75%-100%.
You inherently double the length of your battery.
So 6-cell battery is gonna last for at least 3.5-4 hours, on this laptop with a very fast processor.
And lots of good stuff. Move it along to the front, you're gonna notice
that you have a couple of indicator lights right up here in the front,
for your hard drive, your battery, your power charger, and that last one there is for Wi-Fi.
You have a very nice track pad with side scrolling capability.
Very nice keyboard. It's all silver, it's got an aluminum trim all around it,
that contrast the red very nicely. And up here,
you notice that you do have all your multimedia keys.
So, one touch keys for your DVDs and Next Track and Last Track, go to music.
You can also have your sound up here. Now, I have a Gateway laptop
and I have the same type of sound bar, which is actually very, very excellent.
If you want to increase your volume, you can just slide your finger like this.
And if you want to decrease, you just slide it like that. It's very responsive
and it works very well. Moving along the trim up the top through here,
you're gonna notice that you do have a 1.3 Megapixel webcam, right there.
And that is also gonna be very useful because you can do Skype, you can do instant messenger,
you can talk to people in random countries that are very far away.
Just along the internet randomly, so it's really good stuff.
And that's gonna definitely keep you in contact with your parents.
So when you're at school, in college, and you're not working at your classes
and you're jus playing video games, your parents can Skype in and yell at you over the internet.
That's what they made Skype for. So this is again, an excellent laptop.
I'll repeat the model number in case you didn't get the first one.
It's the M-688u notebook from Gateway. It's a 15.4", it's got Core 2 Duo, it's got Vista,
it's got 3 GB of RAM, it's got 320 GB hard drive,
so it's gonna be able to store all your stuff on it.
It's got N draft wires, it's Ethernet port, it's got an ExpressCard slot,
what more do you want? It's got a webcam. It's got everything.
It's a really great monitor, I mean a really great display, and it's a really great laptop.
