We are with Mercedes G350 Bluetec.
This car has the characteristics of being the only Mercedes model that has been produced since 1979,
that is for 34 years, by the same boxlike design and by the same name.
This car that obtains its current state in 2012 is manufactured in Graz Austria.
I'm not going to spend much time to describe the innovations on the exterior design because the novelties are limited.
One of them is daytime running LED's that has been positioned in front and the other is the bigger door mirrors.
To be able to enter the G Series, first you have to open this robust and heavy door and close it harshly because the doors are really very heavy.
Interior of the G Series in general terms possesses what we are accustomed in Mercedes as material quality and control layout.
But here the main difference is thin A column and windscreen that is quite close to you.
At first glance it creates substantial confusion. But you get used to it as you drive.
The most important detail at the center console is that when you choose the terrain mode the differentials can be locked in three different ways.
This stands out here as a very original command group.
The interior of the G350 effortlessly offers spaciousness for four adults.
Moreover the higher structure of the rear seats even helps you to see the road while sitting; there is no trouble here.
But the greatest problem that the driver suffers is when looking back the big headrests and the spare tire closedown half of the rear window.
And it makes seeing rear view quite insufficient.
The Mercedes G Series from the very start makes you feel that it is different from the SUV's of nowadays.
Not only by its design but also by its driving properties.
The high oriented driver seat, the seating position that makes you see almost all of the bonnet,
gives you a sense that as if you are in the driver's seat of an American giant truck.
But off course it has a disadvantage.
That is in town usage at tight maneuvers you go through a bit of uneasiness.
Even when you get used to the dimensions of the car, it persists at certain areas.
Under the grand bonnet of the G350 Bluetec, 3,0 liters 6 cylinders diesel engine is functioning.
This engine that produces 211 HP and 540 Nm of torque makes this 2,5 ton giant to reach from naught to 100 km/h in 9,1 seconds.
Generally speaking the engine's working properties are very good.
But to say it for driving properties is hard.
If you ask why, firstly we have to refer to the steering.
The steering is heavy and its reaction to your wishes is late.
Apart from that due to the car being high and comfort oriented suspension settings
when you enter a curve fast just like now the car's body rolls more than necessary.
And it makes you feel less safe.
The Mercedes G350 Bluetec is a car that achieves to cause to be loved as you drive it.
Let me tell you this, if I had started filming this car as soon as I sat on the driver's seat my remarks would have been more unfavorable.
But now I can really tell you that I like this car.
The only thing I didn't like is its price.
It starts from 482 thousand TL and with the optional extras as in this car it reaches to 613 thousand TL.
And this is really high...
