Imagine being on a plane and being told to brace yourself during landing because the
landing gear, well, failed. That’s what happened to a flight coming into JFK airport
on Wednesday. Fox News explains.
“It was as if the hand of God turned the wheel. Those words coming from a member of
the disaster response team following what some are calling a miracle landing at JFK
airport.”
Passengers panicked once the pilots said to hold their heads in their hands as the plane
landed.
“Take a look at this picture. The landing gear turned the wrong way. The jet with 190
people onboard, just moments from touching down.”
“TAM8078 heavy, it doesn’t appear normal. Again, TAM 8078 heavy, it appears as you were
landing the nose gear did straighten out and you can stop whenever you like.”
The landing gear straightened out just 50 feet before the touching down. The plane landed
after circling the airport twice so controllers and rescuers could check out the twisted nose
gear. All 190 people on board during the air scare were okay.
