I do think the concept mapping helped them to problem solve
When I say that not that they would not have arrived at the solution anyway
but I think that they had to think more clearly as to how they were solving it
and the steps they had to take to solve it.
Then when they went on to design their animation based concept mapping
they were able to transfer their solution to animation very easily.
They needed very little help from me at all,
they had no difficulty in doing that and coming up with their own animation.
Animation... Flash I think helped from the point of view
that they were able to create their percieption,
their understanding of the maths questions I think in a maths class
we tend to draw diagrams on thei board and it is my perception,
that is how I see it and some students will see that and other won't.
