>> Janet: This video we're going to be discussing social media content - six different types
of content.
>> Janet: Kimmy, we're going to talk about six different types of content and you have
discussed one type of content that you use with your coupons - are you using those as
an image or are you just writing the words out in text?
>> Kimmy: No, I just use coupon pictures.
>> Janet: Coupon pictures, okay, so you're using an image for that, great! There's a
lot of different ways you can use images, you had mentioned that you also do quotes
sometimes.
>> Kimmy: Yeah.
>> Janet: Take pictures of your clients for testimonials, do you ever do that?
>> Kimmy: No.
>> Janet: With the fun hair.
>> Kimmy: I take pictures but I really need to put them on Facebook, don't I?
>> Janet: Yes, yes. And back to our content calendar that we have discussed, yes you could
put that in your schedule and make sure that you doing that at least once a week with the
different images. So images is one type of content. Another type of content will be your
links, blogs. So taking your website and actually putting that out on your social media. So
taking the link and copying it over. Have you ever put like let's say wee page on your
website?
>> Kimmy: I've never thought of that, that's a great idea. I have some pictures on my website,
too.
>> Janet: Perfect! So when you're brainstorming and you can't come up with that idea, then
you know what, you can always grab something from your website. Now you don't want to be
doing that all the time but it's something to fill fill in so that people can learn about
you and learn about and it brings traffic back to your
>> Kimmy / Janet: My website.
>> Janet: You got it. So now we also want to talk about number three I would say is
what we're doing right now. What are we doing right now, what are we looking at?
>> Kimmy: We are looking at a camera. Hi everyone, you make me blush.
>> Janet: Okay. We're doing video, you got it!
>> Kimmy: Video!
>> Janet: So yeah. So videos, you can either take, you can even take how-to videos even
if they're not yours and post them on your social media. But it's even better to have
your own.
>> Kimmy: So I can tell people that I have long hair and they come when they're done,
they get short hair. Or maybe they change the color of their hair.
>> Janet: The number four type of content is text. Just writing a couple sentences talking
to your audience asking them a question, maybe make it really short. Maybe green or pink
hair, simple like that.
>> Kimmy: I put a text on there before and asked if they like long or short hair.
>> Janet: There you go.
>> Kimmy: And that got a lot of people commenting.
>> Janet: It did because why do you think that is?
>> Kimmy: Because people like to give opinions and things they like to be part of your business.
>> Janet: You got it, absolutely! So real short and to-the-point text, if you ask a
very simple, simple question, that is, you can see amazing results because people are
in a hurry when they are on social media and scrolling. So next one is other people's content.
That would be number five, other people's content. So even if you're not, we kind of
talked about that grabbing other people's videos, other people's links, other people's
blogs. You can bring in other people's content as experts, too. So it doesn't all have to
be your own content. You can be teaching and showing you're the expert even through other
people's content.
>> Kimmy: You know my friend Barb, she owns a salon. She's was just in New York so she
always had really good ideas from the shows she attended and I can share that, too.
>> Janet: Absolutely! That's sharing other people's content. You got it, you're right
on the mark.
>> Kimmy: Yehey!
>> Janet: Now, number six is a podcast.
>> Kimmy: I would love to do podcasts.
>> Janet: See, if you had your own podcast you can share that out on your social media.
I think that a lot of people think that if they have a podcast then that's it. So, but
you want to get that out on to your social sites so that they're listening to your podcast.
It's a great way to build up that podcast.
>> Kimmy: I learn a lot in our studio by listening to podcasts from other hair stylist.
>> Janet: Awesome! Now I am using your words. [laughs] So, that's great. So, there's so
much, so many different types of content that you can do. And so if you haven't downloaded
my guide, which I know Kimmy has, she's taking a look at it but she's going to take a little
bit deeper so that we can look at past those coupons, correct?
>> Kimmy: But I love coupons.
>> Janet: I know, I know. You can still do the coupons but we want to make sure that
you're building the rapport with your audience through different types of content. So you
can download my guide at janetejonhson.com/content-guide and be sure to subscribe to this channel for
