When you come to University of Georgia,
you'll pick a major,
But I like to think my major picked me.
I'm an Agricultural Education major.
Upon completion of high school, I had no desire
to come into formal teaching,
but after taking several classes
and seeing what all's involved,
it's the perfect fit for me.
My name is Perry T. Walden,
and I'm an Agricultural Education major
in the College of Agricultural
and Environmental Sciences
at the University of Georgia.
The most influential faculty member at the University
of Georgia has been my advisor and friend,
Dr. Dennis Duncan.
He has pushed me and challenged me
to pursue all my dreams and goals.
I hope to travel the world, and be able to teach people
about agriculture, and bridge the gap
between the common consumer and the farmer...

whether that means the political realm,
or through Cooperative Extension and traveling
around local communities,
and making sure people understand
and appreciate the true value
of the food that's put on their tables.
