it's Brah here, and I'm here to show you some basic Badlands scout jumps
at the same time i'm gonna quickly discuss what the jumps are used for and when to use them
right now you're watching a common scout roll out in the house. it's usually the
fastest way to get to mid, where you can cap the point and protective demoman
from being harassed by other scouts
now let's watch that again, but in slow motion
this first job is done by walking off the square exit and jumping once
you want to land on the rocks than immediately double jump onto the wooden bridge. from
here you can move to yard, mid/bridge, or balcony
this could also be done in reverse a double crouch-jumping off the rock and
through the square exit
from there you can get the last point through the upper lobby
jump onto spire
or flank enemies fighting in yard
if you mess up your house rollout by missing the jump
don't try to go through house anymore
just go through valley. it's all about getting to mid fast so you don't want to
waste time if you miss your jump
what you're seeing now is a jump from valley to mid/bridge
if the enemy demo expects you they're likely to lay a sticky trap for you to
walk through if you just went through the door
to avoid this you can double jump around it.
now that you're on mid/bridge, you can harass the enemy demo, protect your teammates
from enemy scouts, or
cap the point
this jump from mid to house through the window is probably the hardest jump
to make in this whole video
to do the jump, jump onto the taller rock and then thread the needle by crouch-jumping
into the window
i wouldn't recommend doing this frequently because it's quite difficult
what usually happens is you either slow down instead of fly through the window
at full speed or you miss the window entirely
the safer way to jump from mid to house is to jump onto the shorter rock and onto the wooden platform
these jumps can be used to escape for health or harass enemies in
house
well that's all I have to share for now folks, thanks for watching!
hopefully this has been helpful for those looking to play scout in a more competitive
level
now go out there and try those jumps!
