Plane lands safely despite engine fire. Pilots of a Cathay Pacific plane brought all 136
passengers to safety in Singapore’s Changi Airport on Monday, May 16 after one of the
aircraft's engines caught fire. The plane had departed from Singapore for Jakarta, Indonesia,
but quickly turned around, with the engine being completely shut down when the problem
was realized. As conditions inside the cabin became alarmingly turbulent, some passengers
said they prayed together asking God for protection. Fortunately, the plane landed smoothly, with
the pilots later thanking everyone for their helpful cooperation during the time of danger.
We are grateful for the safe return of the passengers and crew aboard the Cathay Pacific
flight. Wishing everyone a renewed appreciation of life to be shared in the cherished company
of loved ones
