The question is "HOW LONG will it take me to improve my voice?" Hi, guys! I'm ken
Tamplin from Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy, Where the Proof is in the Singing!
And, you know, when you say "improve" it's kind of an interesting question, because
what? Are we talking GIANT, you know I want to be Michael Jackson tomorrow, or
are we satisfied with incremental steps along the way? Well, realistically, too, it
also depends on your starting point. So if you already started out as a pretty
decent singer and you just want to put a couple more notes on your range, there's
no reason you couldn't do that in, you know, four to six weeks, maybe two months
or something, if you're really dedicated and put it in four to five days a week.
If you're looking to go "Well, I want to be Bruno Mars, and I've never sung before...
you know there's very few Bruno Mars's in this world, so remember that,
that no matter what anyone tells you. So imagine how much it took to get to that
point, and to that level, and it's all about this, you know, how we build the
building blocks of getting there. So if you're asking me "Hey, how do I, how long
is it gonna take to improve my voice, just to sing a song for my girlfriend, or
to go to karaoke, or something like that? I'd say from a from a non-singer to a
singer realistically you could probably pull it off in about a year.
That'd be really practical. Now a lot of other people will tell you they
can do it for you in five minutes and five easy steps, and da, da, da, dah, all
these different things. Let's be realistic. If you're looking to get into
sort of that league, and you you're just totally starting out, or you're a guitar player
wanting to learn to sing or whatever... You know, you should be able to sing some
decent tunes in a year... and be pretty proficient at it, and then kind of build
from there, if you want to continue your studies. So, I have a singing course
called How To Sing Better Than Anyone Else. I walk you through all this
stuff, step-by-step to help take the guesswork out of it. But again, it depends
on your starting point. It depends on your discipline. It depends on your voice
type, too - like how much, if you have a really light voice, do I have to develop
a light voice into a heavier voice because you want to sing something heavy?
or you're a heavy guy and all you do is, you know, growl, or whatever, and
you don't know how to sing light. There's a lot of nuance to all this stuff. So
again, I cover all this in my singing course. But anyway, I hope this
information was helpful, and KTVA, where the Proof is in the Singing!
Peace.
Out.
