We had a lot of fun, I used to skate, you know,
I used to ice skate a lot and I used to ski and...
Were there boys and girls in your group? -Oh, yeah.
And who was... Who watched over you?
There was a doctor, I learned later, and I knew there was always a nurse,
you know, close by.
And there was a sister, a nun, but she didn't wear a uniform.
But I know she was a sister, we called her Sister Claire,
"Soeur Claire."
She would tell me... this sister provided...
It was Christmas
and she made sure that all the children had Christmas,
you know.
And the commandant was too close by so we children could not celebrate,
you know, Hannukah or anything else,
so she included us in the celebration of Christmas.
But I remember her telling the other children
that we were Jewish
and that we should not forget that we were Jewish,
that Jesus was Jewish
and that Jesus loved us very much
and that we should not forget that we were Jewish,
that we were of the same faith as Jesus was.
