Hey OSU Cascades students, Andrew Davis here, coordinator for student life for Cascades
Campus. Psyched to be with you. I know the first couple of weeks of class can be a little
stressful. You're out of your routine. You're back into something new. We want to try to
alleviate that as much as possible, so we're coming to you with some YouTube tips. One
thing that often students want to ask us is hey, where can I go to get a cup of coffee.
And my first recommendation would be right across the street to the campus center and
get a cup of coffee from the campus coffee house. You can pop in, talk to Tracy, say
hey, she'll set you up. Also if you need a light snack, it's a great place to go or maybe
a soda. If you want to go a little bit farther, I'd encourage you to go down college way and
stop at Bom Dia. It's right next to the Chevron. Bom Dia is great. You can talk to Bo. He's
the owner. He loves college students and he always offers a campus discount, so save a
couple of bucks while you're at it. Little bit further down Newport Way past Newport
Market is Back Porch Coffee House. It's a great place to go and hang out, take advantage
of their wifi and just sort of chill between classes or after class. Then the next question
that often comes to us is man, I need to get something to eat, where's the best place to
go? Again, I'd encourage you to start with the campus center. The campus center has awesome
offerings. You can get a burger, get some pizza, get some salad. They're going to have
options for you no matter what your dietary needs are. If you want to venture a little
farther, if you need to just not think about academics for awhile and get off of campus,
head back down college way, Taste of Thailand is gonna be on your left, again right next
to the Chevron station. Great Thai food in there. Affordable prices, a good place to
check out. Then you could venture a little bit farther. A little bit farther. Actually
stop at that Chevron. I know that sounds weird, but that Chevron has really decent food, really
good prices, super cheap soda, pretty good coffee. It's kind of a one-stop shopping.
Then you could go down Newport Market a little bit farther. You could hit Newport Avenue
Market. They've got some great fresh food in there. Across the street you've got Devore's,
local, organic, ;title tiny place, you're gonna have a good time in there. We've also
got Kababa and Chow right there in the vicinity. Great food options. I'd encourage you to do
that. I'm gonna sign off by saying hey, if you've got questions, shoot us an email or
get on Cascades Campus Facebook. It's Facebook.com/OSU Cascades. Check us out, submit a question.
We'd be happy to come by and answer it for you. Thanks.
