Erik: How are your family relationships changing as you get older?
James: First and foremost, it's fascinating to watch my parents, my brother, interact
with Jack, my son. And how he has influenced all of our relationships. People joke all
the time about children being the bosses of the household. And look, at the end of the
day, that's not the case, but I would also tell you that, you know, everything you do
revolves around wanting to make sure that they're happy, healthy, safe, you know, and
set up for a positive and good day the next day. So it's fascinating to me to be able
to now to relate to my mom and dad on a new level, to be able to talk to them about shared
experiences of having, you know, an infant, to a toddler, to a boy. To be able to watch
my brother kind of exceed, if you will, to a role of an uncle and really kind of watch
Jack take to his relationships with each. I think it's -- Well, Erik, that getting older
having successes and failures, being in relationships, you know, for me being married allows me I
think a bit of an inside track to understanding and relating to my parents and experiences
that they've had.
