One time and I will end with this
I had a lecture to give at one of the prisons
So I gave a lecture in prison
The prisoners were gathered in the mosque in the prison that holds approximately 1000 prisoners
I finished giving my speech (lecture) , when I left, the adviser
His name was Shiekh Ali. He said oh shiekh Muhammad and I replied Yes
He said oh shiekh there is a group in prison that are not permitted to meet with other the other prisoners
I Said why not?
He replied because it's solitary confinement
You can pass by them shiekh and talk to them
You can speak to them on the microphone and they will hear you
I said thats fine, no problem
In this prison there is a big room that is about 50 meters by 50 meters... a big room
All of the rooms are side by side
So the prisoner inside the room could only see a wall behind him, a wall right and left
And infront of him will be the metal bars (of the cell)
So I came with the microphone far away (from them)
And I don't see them and they can't see me
So I finished with my lecture
Then I started to pass by them
So I can speak to them and see if someone has a question (fatwa) or anything they wish to ask
We passed by someone... and as we were passing by him this prisoner shouted out OH shiekh Ali, OH shiekh Ali.. The prisoner is calling out
This prisoner was like a lion siting there
Allah gave him great strength and a powerful body
He said “oh shiekh Ali”
Shiekh Ali replied... “ yes "
The prisoner asked "did they give hokum (ruling for my case) yet or not?"
Shiekh Ali said to him “I don't know... I don't know".. and he kept walking
I asked what is his case?
He said to me ya shiekh this prisoner has serious charges against him... armed bank robberies
So he was arrested first time, second time and third time
So when he got imprisoned for the fourth time
He won't repent to Allah... so the judge ordered for his hands to be cutt
"As to the thief, Male or female, cut off his or her hands..." (5:38)
He said to me so when his case was taken to be judged by the high court
They said no... the captial punishment should be applied and and get rid of his evil for good
And sheikh Ali did not know if his hands will be cut off or capital punishment... just let them inform him
Then he shiekh Ali said to me... do you know Shiekh Muhammed..I said yes..?
That this man has a great talents and abilities
If he uses it all for the Ummah it will make a big big impact for the Ummah
I said “how so?”
He told me this man that you see... he speaks seven languages
The Arabic language, English , Bengali
Pachto, Urdu and Korean and I can't remember the seventh
He said he speaks seven languages...
He also has six martial art (karate) belts... not the black belt but the belt or level above that!
He masters ticuando , kong fu and street fighting.
He told me do you believe that when he is released from prison has contacts with gyms to train the trainers!
I said this is strange! ... He has amazing strength
Sheikh Ali said one time
A security guard was passing by this prisoner
The prisoner said bring me cold water from the water cooler over there please
The security said you have water
The prisoner said this water is warm
The guard said "keep quiet... that enough" and he said things to him and and left
This prisoner kept it in his heart and didn't forget it
Then days later the security guard passed by after about a week or 2
The prisoner asked him "bring me water", he (the security guard) brought him the water
The prisoner said "bring it close to me please I have a backache".
He came close to him then this prisoner jumped up and grabbed the security guard and pulled him to the bars of his cell
I don't know if he got his face only or his entire body between the bars of the cell
He put his second hand on his neck, then he told him "what do you think I'm going to do to you?"
kill you?... I'm going to die anyway
He said some things to him then spit on his face then he let him go
7 years passed by since I visited this prison
Then after a while I went and gave a lecture there and I saw my friend shiekh Ali again
I said how are you , how is everything
Then we went out, then I rememeberd the time I came 7 years ago
I said to him do you remember the prisoner you told me about last time?
There was a prisoner his name was... his name was... I forgot his name but this was his case
He said OHH that prisoner who's name is such and such
I said yes him... how is he? what happen to him? did his hands get cutt or was it capital punishment or what?
He said no no the judge gave a hokum (ruling) 25 years prison
I said is he here?
Shiekh Ali said yes
I said ok did he attend the lecture ? Because I gave the lecture to all of the prisoners
They said wallahi we don't know and started asking the security officers
They said no he didn't attend , he's very well known in prison
I asked where is he right now? they said he's in cell 12... come with us
So we went together to the cell
Shiekh Ali told me do you believe that this prisoner is now a Daiyaa? (one that gives dawah)
I said how is he a daiyaa?
And when you looked at this prisoner you could see that he smokes
And bad things and major disobedience and all of the bad things you can imagine... he probably did it all!
It was clear on his face at that time
I said how?
They said since he speaks English whenever someone comes to prison that speaks English or some other language
And they are non Muslim, they would put him in same room as this prisoner
It wouldn't be a day or two before the person would take his shahda
I am not sure if he was taking the shahada willingly or forced but they took shahadah!
And he told me so many people became Muslim because of him
I said OK but he didn't attend the lecture?
They said he didn't come. They asked and everyone said he did not show up
we came to the room around 11 in the morning
When we were walking to see him the other prisoners saw us and called out Oh shiekh oh shiekh! and between me and them are the bars of the cell
I said to them I want to see this prisoner
In shock they said that guy, he want to see that guy! (they were very excited)
This prisoner was pretty much the president of that prison, probably the leader of the entire prison
They woke him up from his sleep
He came to me whit his clothes dragging on the floor
And lips black from all the smoking
His looks show everything...May Allah accept our touba and his (say Amen)
He came and he looked a if he was in a fight
He said "Hello shiekh, how are you" (In a deep voice)
I said oh brother now your a daiyaaa mashAllah and you are doing good
But you missed the lecture though?
He said wallah shiekh I was sleeping
I told him well you should of woke up from sleep
He said do you know what time I slept shiekh
I said when did you sleep ?
He said I slept at 8 o'clock in the morning. I was up all night
I said why did you stay up all night?
He said ya akhi they brought a new philipino kaffer and I was speaking to him all night trying to make him become Muslim
I said ok did he became Muslim?
He said may God curse his parents... he didn't become Muslim
Subhanalla (praise be to Allah)
I said how do you call them (to Islam)?
He said the people in prison bring me books about Islam and I read all of them
He said I started to memorize things and then give it to them
Subhannalla they started to become Muslim.
I said how many became Muslim now because of you?
He said oh shiekh may Allah make it sincere
I said please tell me how many became Muslim
He said the people that because Muslim so far are 31
People became Muslim because of this man, even though he smokes and probably has shortcomings with his prayers
But he holds something inside of him for calling others to the deen of Islam
I have ability, language and strengths.. I utilize it for the My religion
I have skills when using a computer.... I will utilize it for the My religion
I have the ability to convince people.. to talk to people... I will utilize it for the My religion
I Have money... I will utilize it for the My religion
So who of you will from this point on make a decision to not only fix my relationship with Allah
But to also make a difference in the Ummah and it would benifit the Ummah until the day of judgment
So I will come on the day of judgement, with this person being guided through me, and that sister maybe now wearing the hijab because of me
And this person now prays because of me
And maybe this person repented because of me, that person is going back to his parents after disobeying them because of me
Who can really it happen and make this decision right now and start making a difference
