no matter how many times we visit the Ganesh Idols, we still want to visit again and again
From the arrival of our beloved Ganpati Bappa, till his VISARJAN,
there are Pathaks who work hard with complete dedication.
We gave a visit to a Pathak to know about their experiences.
Lets go directly to the place where they practise.
Participants of all age groups
Why DHOL TASHA ??
DHOL & TASHA are Maharashtra's traditional musical instruments.
We are listening to it since a long time.
It was Urge in my mind that even I want to play the beats on DHOL & TASHA.
Hence I decided to get in DHOL TASHA PATHAK.
How many months before the Ganesh Utsav do you start your practise ?
Approx. one and half month before we start practising.
Newly formed Pathaks start two and half months before.
Old Pathaks start atleast a month before.
How do you select participants among all the people who come to you ??
We limit the participants to an age group of 8th class and above.
Participants who can play the DHOL or Dance with the DHWAJ (Flag)
Selection is also based on the likes of the individual.
the attraction they have towards the instruments.
180 people participate in our Pathak, so can they adjust among 180 other participants.
We observe them for 2-3 days then we let them join.
What is the possible reason behind people coming to DHOL TASHA PATHAKS ?
Basic reason is that we were born and brought up in this tradition of Pune.
The base of Ganesh Utsav is DHOL TASHA,
Its craze in our mind since our childhood that we have to be part of this.
but we got the chance at this age
and this Sound is what attracts everyone.
That is the reason why everyone comes here.
Even if we gets to play for just 10 mins, we still come.
How many Instruments and Participants you have in this Pathak ?
We have 180 participants
60 DHOL, 15 TASHA and 1 DHWAJ PATHAK.
We have seen Male and even Female participants,
so how much does your family support you for this ??
Earlier only males use to participate.
We use to think that even we should participate.
We asked our parents for permissions.
They agreed.
When I first came here, I could feel Energy within me.
not equal to others ! but yes I can do it !
Women of present generation are no different than men.
We get complete support.
even in hardships our parents understand us.
parents say that Ganpati Bappa is looking after us everytime.
In this atmosphere of enthusiasm of Ganesh Utsav,
in every common man playing DHOL TASHA,
we can feel a flow of Tremendous Energy.
Where does this energy come from ? Its a Myth !
OR we can also say that Ganpati Bappa reveals himself as this energy inside every devotee.
All devotees pray to the Almighty who looks after them,
GANPATI BAPPA MORYA !!
wishes farewell , hoping he will come again next year.
even the little ones get sad during the Almighty's farewell.
may be for these pure hearted children, Ganpati Bappa
promises to come again and again every year
