This video will demonstrate how to access and read an article
once you have found it in a database.
We'll pick up where we left off in the last video,
using the same sample searches.
The second search result here is available in PDF format.
Clicking on the link,
we may then read the article on the screen,
or we can use the same tools available with other PDF files
to print or save a copy of the article or adjust the magnification.
Returning to the search results,
if we want to obtain a copy of the first article
that does not have full text available,
we'll record the pertinent information and order it through interlibrary loan.
To do so, we'll go back to the library home page.
Under the "Services" menu, click on "Interlibrary Loan."
Next, click on the blue arrow to log in with your NetID and password.
If it is your first time logging in,
you will be asked to update your personal information,
as well as your preferences for how you will receive items ordered.
Once you submit this information,
you will be taken to the ILL main menu.
Go to the "New Request" menu and click on "Article."
Enter all the information you have about the article
and click on "Submit Request."
The article has now been ordered,
and you will be notified by your preferred contact method
when your article arrives.
If you have any questions about accessing articles or using ILL,
please feel free to stop by the reference desk
or contact us using "Ask a Librarian."
