Reporter: What would you feel, if in a magical way I would take you to a 502 cave full of mineral salt at the center of Athens, Barcelona, Split or Nicosia?
Reporter: Mr Masoulas what was the initial idea that made you create a Saltcave at the center of major cities?
Dr. Masoulas: The idea started from a visit in Poland some years ago. Back then I was Director in a large multinational company and of course I had a lot of stress. When I went to Poland on holidays I couldnít sleep for 4 nights. My father in law took me to a salt cave and when I laid on a chez longue, I fall asleep and woke up 40í-45í later. I thought that it would be nice to have something like that in my house. Later I decided to take off stress from the lives of all people in Athens and thatís how we installed the first saltcave here in Greece. The same as we have done with many other major European cities.
Reporter: what are the beneficial influences of salt?
Dr. Masoulas: Salt caves where developed initially by German and Polish doctors, who decided to bring to the surface of the earth the beneficial microclimate that prevails inside salt mines. The Polish salt mines were used as sanatoriums for respiratory & cardio illnesses, skin diseases, allergies, during the early 19th century.
The salt used in walls and roof of Crystalotherapy Saltcaves is from Poland, from the depths of earth, of excellent quality and cleanness. The salt we use on the floor is a mixture. It is 70% rock salt from Poland and 30% sea salt from the Dead Sea. This material is a crystal of excellent quality. When in temperatures higher than18o C it releases naturally its beneficial nutrients. It releases Calcium, Potassium, Sodium, Magnesium, which is found in juice, fruit and water. When someone stays for 45í minutes inhale the 84 beneficial elements of salt, itís as if he has enjoyed a 4 day clean sea aura.
Dr. Masoulas: Inside a Saltcave Crystalotherapy people can feel peaceful, calm, and relax for a while in a very easy and accessible place. Additionally, people who suffer from health problems also visit our Salt caves. For example people who suffer from asthma, bronchitis, respiratory problems and diabetes or skin problems, allergies. People who have skeletal problems, people with chronic fatigue.
Reporter: Why should someone come to a Saltcave?
Reporter: I really feel relaxed, thank you very much for this experience. What I realized is that itís bad for our health to eat salt but itís very beneficial to be close to it.
Dr. Masoulas: It is bad to eat Salt, because it is crystal, it clogs our arteries, increases blood pressure and can cause heart problems. Inside a Salt cave Crystalotherapy we donít eat salt, we inhale the beneficial microelements that are vital to human body, make stronger our immune system and help us deal with stress and see life with joy.
