The next exercise is again chest expansion and we are going to be doing what I call the
Saturday Night Fever Diagonal Extension so think about John Travolta as we do this. If
you are seated in a chair like Carolyn, lengthen up through the crown of the head, shoulders
right over the hips, ears right over the shoulders, knees straight out from the hips and heels
straight down from the knees. Feet about hip distance apart. We are going to begin with
the arms down. If you are standing as I am again heels into the center line, really pull
in to that center line and zip up and out of the center line. Belly in and up, collar
bone wide, chest lifted. To begin this exercise we are just going to float the arms forward,
inhale, lengthen your right arm up to the right diagonal and the left arm down to the
left diagonal, reach, lift the chest, lengthen the fingers, exhale and return back to the
center. Inhale the left arm out to that left diagonal, right arm out, keep the chest lifted,
reach out, keep the shoulder blades down your back, neck long, exhale back to center and
now we are going to speed it up so it is inhale out, exhale down, inhale out, exhale down,
one more, inhale out, exhale down, reach opening that chest, inhale reach and exhale down and
those are the Saturday Night Fever Diagonal Extensions.
