Hi it’s Steve from PartSelect. Today we are going to show you how to change the Detergent
Dispenser on your Dishwasher it's a really easy job, all you are going to need is a #15
Torx bit, a 3/16ths nut driver and a pair of needle nose pliers. Let me show you how
we do it. Now to do this repair the first thing we’ll need to do is disconnect the
power to the dish washer, so locate the breaker or the fuse panel and turn the power off,
and we’ll next open the door and we are going to remove the #15 Torx set of screws,
and there's five along each side, we’ll remove those, now the two screws in the top
corners are a little bit longer than the other one, so take note of that when you're ready
to reinstall them, we’ll support that outer door panel to the inner door panel when we
remove the last two screws, and we are going to tilt that door back up to the closed position,
and then we can lift off the outer door panel, just lift up on it slightly and disengage
it on the hinge brackets, and we can set that aside.
Now with the outer door panel removed we now have access to the dispenser, so the first
thing we’ll do is remove two wires that go to the solenoid, and then we will remove
all 6 screws and we’ll retain the shield for the two wire terminals, and we can remove
that retaining bracket and may need to release the tension on the two little locking tabs,
that are part of the inter-door panel, one on the top and one on the bottom here just
bend those out a little bit, while securing that dispenser we’ll carefully open the
door and remove it from the inside. This is where we need to clean the finger portion
of the door around that edge the dispenser sits on, so we will take that opportunity
to do that now. Now before we install the new dispenser we’ll first of all make sure
that the gasket is laying flat all the way around, and we’ll bend those locking tabs
flat again, so that when we slide the new dispenser from the inside it will engage those
two tabs and hold it in place.
Then next we’ll put the retaining bracket into position, may find it easier if you replace
two little screws first, and the easiest access, we’ll make sure we replace that shield that
fits around the solenoid end, remember to reconnect the wires to the solenoid, and then
lower the water proof barrier over the dispenser, and now we’re ready to put the outer door
panel on, next we’ll reinstall the outer door panel, so we’ll engage those brackets
on the side with the hinge brackets, and we’ll hold both the inner and outer door panel together
as we open the door, and we’ll start by putting the two longer screws in the upper
corners, and then we will replace two on the ones at the very bottom, and then replace
the remaining screws and we’ll check the fit of the door to make sure it lines up straight,
we can reconnect the power and our repair is complete. We told you it was an easy job,
thanks for watching and good luck with your repair.
