please describe what Portuguese culture means to you
it's in everything
that you do. A way of life it's dance
it could be music
it could be food it's not just
place where you were born or what culture you are
it's a way of life for me
can you describe to me what Portuguese cuisine is to you
Portuguese cuisine, more less is a collection
or recipes that
are made in a slow way. We don't like to make it fast. With simple ingredients. We like to cook it slow for things to marinate
we marinate fish,
we marinate chicken,
um, potatoes. And with lots of love.
So, I'd like to know, does being Portuguese influence the food choices that you make?
Oh yes, very much so. Portuguese is almost like a comfort food
using simple ingredients and cooking it with love
So, have any Portuguese meals been passed down to you?
Oh yes in Portugal, I was born
in the North-East part of the country
of more less a farming community
so I spent lots of time in the kitchen with my mother
as she
showed me recipes that I truly intend to pass down to my kids too
So I have to know what is your favorite Portuguese meal?
I must say my favorite Portuguese meal
is the many stews that you can make.
The stews
are not just a dinner but something that incorporates together
and we can sit down and enjoy the time that it is given to us
