My dad was minister
and he played the piano, and he lead worship a lot at church
and it just was something that came naturally to the rest of us so I
grew up playing the piano some and just grew up singing on stage some with my dad at
the church, and so it's always been something that's been a part of me
It was truly a divine inspiration. I had been part of the Easter play
at my church and I just had this thought to write "The Cross" and after going
through the process of being in the play and, really, the emotions of what really
happened that day. I went home and I felt the divine inspiration from God
from Jesus' perspective what he went through
I felt a very closeness to God, like it was truly coming .... I call it
Jesus' song
because it really is very very unique and um... He's the only one who could truly know 0:00:57.680,0:01:01.670 really what he went through but certainly there's an understanding
to some level of what he went through. The emotional pain, the
physical pain, it is truly amazing and it just is something that overwhelms me and
I felt a closeness to God that I have never felt before
I wanted to be able to reach out to people and just be able to share the
message of "The Cross" and really what He did for us in
and that He loves us and He wants to Bless us with the gift of
Salvation
