[S. Woodall] Hi, I’m Shawna Woodall, your guest
host for the December 3rd edition of IUPUI’s The Spot.
Jam the Jaguars Bus Food Drive delivered more than 3 tons of food to local nonprofit
organizations and food pantries. On Tuesday, November 25th IUPUI gathered all the donations
and filled three buses that made deliveries to places like Gleaners Food Bank and the Julian
Center. IUPUI’s Stroll Off for fraternities and
sororities was Tuesday, December 2nd. Take a look at some of the competition.

The Moving Company’s winter showcase is Saturday, December 6th at 7pm in the Caleb Mills
Auditorium at Shortridge Middle School. This organization provides a performance outlet for
all styles of dance like tap, modern, ballet and jazz.
This week in Student Voices we asked you what your plans are for the holiday season and
winter break. Here’s what you had to say. [S. Ogundiran] Over Christmas break I plan on
spending time with the family, getting settled in my new apartment and getting ready for next
semester. [M. Kings] Over the holiday season I plan on
going with family to vacation in South Carolina.
[S. Grant] Over this Christmas break I will be going on a disaster relief trip with my
organization Y'ALL. [R. Roberts] I actually have my birthday on the
19th. I will be turning 21. After that I am going to go home and hang out with the family a
little bit. Possibly get the snow-mobiles out and maybe go up to the UP, the Upper Peninsula
in Michigan, ride those a little bit. [M. Miller] This Christmas break I plan on
eating lots of Christmas cookies and probably having a lot of fun with my family, decorating
the Christmas tree, and I plan to probably be at church at Christmas Eve and just have fun in the
snow. [T. Stanley] Be safe with my family and I'll be
volunteering with my group organization, Circle K International, where we'll be doing gift
wrapping at the Circle Centre Mall as a fundraiser.
[B. Finger] Over winter break I'm going to be just hanging out with the family and doing a lot
of working. [S. McCormack] Over Christmas I will be
celebrating my graduation by going to Miami, Florida. Warm weather, yay!
[S. Woodall] The Jaguars basketball teams played in Conseco Fieldhouse for the first time on
Tuesday, November 25th. The women were ahead 32-29 at half-time, but by
the final buzzer the Jaguars fell short of victory 73-63. Jernisha Cann made her fourth
double-double with 15 rebounds and a career-high 23 points.
That same night the men defeated Eastern Illinois University 67-60. Freshman Alex Young
made a career-high 20 points and sophomore Leroy Nobles got a career-high with 19. The win
brought the Jaguars winning streak to 18 games at home.
That’s it for The Spot this week, and we’re done for the semester. Make sure to check out
