Hello!
Now you are probably wondering ”Who am I?”
A completely reasonable question, as first of all it’s written on the flip chart behind me,
and second of all, you have no idea who I am.
And I will answer that later, but first I’d like to
present my contribution to the field of Identity Research
and how to answer the question ”Who am I?”.
The goal of my analysis has been to create a functional template,
with the purpose of facilitating everything from introducing
yourself to new people, to more existentially serious problems, such as identity crises.
The contraption that I have prepared in order to present my analysis is this Holograph.
To be able to answer this question, there is one basic issue
[Who am I?] To be able to answer this question, there is one basic issue
[Who am I?] we need to address, which is exactly what the question means.
If we, with the help of a dictionary, summarize the meanings of the different words,
we quickly notice that our question can also be phrased as:
"In what state are my attributes and/or my body in this moment, which makes my identity unique?"
If you were the only person on the planet, that question would be
very easy to answer, as it would only take one word to describe yourself in a way that no one else would.
[Lonely] very easy to answer, as it would only take one word to describe yourself in a way that no one else would.
We, here on planet Earth, have a more difficult time,
as we would need at least 7 billion different options.
The Swedish language consists of 125,000 words,
and it is usually said that Shakespeare’s vocabulary contained approximately 65,000 words,
of which he used 32,000 in his complete works.
If you are not, however, a literary genius, but rather a normal person,
you will have to settle for a vocabulary of about 12-20,000 words.
Out of all these words 14% are verbs and 25% adjectives.
So if we decide that our very averagely intelligent trial person
knows 15,000 words, it means she knows about 2,100 verbs and 3,750 adjectives.
If we use just one adjective that will, of course, only be enough for 3,750 unique combinations.
Two adjectives are enough for 7 million unique combinations,
which only equals 0.01 per mille of the Earth’s population.
If we on the other hand were to use both two adjectives and two verbs,
we could create as many as 15.5 trillion combinations, which would be enough for 2,213 Earth populations.
So if you really work hard to find the words which best illustrate
[Look, Stand, Kind, Happy] your own identity, two adjectives and two verbs are more than enough to describe yourself!
Of course it’s still possible that some combinations will be used more than once,
but if you suspect that that is the case and you oppose it,
[Happy] but if you suspect that that is the case and you oppose it,
[appy] but if you suspect that that is the case and you oppose it,
[ppy] but if you suspect that that is the case and you oppose it,
[py] but if you suspect that that is the case and you oppose it,
[y] but if you suspect that that is the case and you oppose it,

And now, “Who am I” then?
