Hi, my name's Lee Perkins. I'm a physical therapist and founder of HandsOnRemedy.com.
Today I'm going to talk about Pes Anserine Bursitis and why you should consider physical
therapy as your first option in the healing process. Pes Anserine Bursitis occurs when
the bursa sac that lies on the inside of your lower leg, just below the knee joint, gets
stressed and inflamed. This injury most often occurs from poor mechanics, being overweight
or weakness in surrounding joints. The Pes Anserine is a group of three muscles that
help stabilize the inside of your leg during functional activity. The bursa sac inflames
when the tendons of those muscles cause excessive pressure and friction. This can be very painful
making it challenging to perform activities during your day; like going up and down stairs,
playing your favorite sport and even walking can be difficult.
With early Physical Therapy treatment, you can maximize your function quickly and cost
effectively. On the first visit, your Physical Therapist will perform differential diagnostic
testing to determine your exact condition. You should then expect a hands-on treatment
incorporating specialized techniques to help get the results you need. Your therapist will
also provide a home exercise program specific to your injury and the training to perform
those exercises correctly. Our goal as therapists is the same as yours; heal quickly and heal
permanently. The information you see on our website and this video should NOT be used
to determine your own condition. You should seek medical advice from a qualified professional
first. Find your Physical Therapist now at HandsOnRemedy.com, and best wishes for a speedy
recovery.
