Hi, it’s Steve from PartSelect. You’ve decided to change the drip bowls on your range.
I know, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out, but there’s a couple
of tips I want to show you, some things to look at while we have those drip bowls out.
Let me show you what I mean.
To change the eight inch drip bowls on your range, first thing we need to do is make sure
that all the burners have been turned off, and that are cool to the touch; we’re going
to pull the element out, lift it out of place, and set the new drip bowl in.
While we’re taking the elements out, it’s always a good idea to look at the terminals
for any signs of any arcing or burning; if you find one that looks similar to this, you
need to replace both the element and the socket that it plugs into.
Just lift the drip bowl out, clean up any grease that may be around the rim, take your
new drip bowl, line that opening up with the element, make sure it sits nice and flat,
and reinstall the element. Line it up with the socket, press inward, and then drop it
down so it snaps into place.
Same with the opposing eight inch drip bowl, take the element out, check the terminals,
and lift the drip bowl out of place. Line up the opening with the socket, and reinstall
the element. It’s as easy as that.
So there, we changed the drip bowls on your range. Wasn’t too hard, and hopefully you
didn’t find anything else wrong with your range; thanks for watching, and good luck
with your repair.
