Well, I think the way that you feel as you go through
day-to-day life has a lot to do with how connected you are to yourself.
If you feel like there's a sense of purpose, that it all leading towards
something
or that it's at the very least supporting the other things that you
want to do
um that that will make
the work experience better. um
because in any work environment there will be people
who hate their job and there will be people
who are quite happy being there. There's not really anything different in the work
um but for some people the work is connected to
their values in a better way and so uh
you know if you are clear about what it is that you want
in life and who you are as a person then
you're much better able to know whether the work that you're doing is
actually fulfilling for you
if you're not happy then maybe you shouldn't be doing that work.
There's always other options. You only get one life
and so you don't really wanna be wasting it
um doing something that you don't enjoy
there are also ways to find more enjoyment in
whatever it is you're doing I don't think that anyone needs to
that if someone's unhappy with where they are I don't think going in doing
something else is
necessarily always the answer. I think sometimes we just need to
trying peace within ourselves and
then it makes everything else easier. I think a
a good way to find more meaning in life is to pay attention
for what it is that you feel drawn to.
What are the things that inspire you, and kind of like what are your
what are your dreams? When I was in
University I was going in my classes I was doing kind of the thing that
everybody expected me to do
um but I didn't feel like I was learning very much
and there was this other thing when I
when I started reading the Tom Brown books um I just
saw that there was this whole world of
nature connection that I didn't really experience in a deep way when I was a
kid
and I wanted to have
that experience of making fire with a bow drill and
sleeping in a shelter and learning
bird language and all these things they just
resonated with me on a much deeper level than the kinda stuff that I was doing
in class. By following what I was inspired to do
that gave me a sense that I was actually
living my life I wasn't just putting away my dreams
I was actually following them and
um I think that's a pretty important thing to do like if you want to do
something
go do it because you're not going to necessarily get another chance
