We'd been trying for a baby kind of, for about a year and a half.
My friend at work said "Go to Create Clinic, it's in Raynes Park and just go and get an MOT
and that'll basically tell you if there's any other problems".
Some women also book for what is called fertility MOT, fertility MOT is the same as fertility
scan, but it also involves a short consultation following that scan so that information combined
with their history, combined with their previous results and any treatment gives us enough
information to make a joint informed decision as to which might be the best method of treatment for them.
Once you start then, there's so much information and then you go away and 'no wait hang on,
it's natural what? modified natural what?' and then you have to go back and ask another
load of questions again, you can't do that within the NHS so, whereas you can within Create Clinics
Every patient who comes for initial consultation is in the system which means they get a dedicated
e-mail address which, it directly goes to a doctor or a specialist nurse which means they're
able to get into the system and they are able to e-mail with their specific questions, any
queries at all they have, so they become part of the clinic just straight after the initial consultation.
I had a little cyst and so they decided to not go ahead with that cycle and I thought
that was really responsible of them, that they were not going to push it and just take
our money and just say 'well you know', it showed they were very responsible in regards to
my health and so then we went ahead with the second cycle
It's all fitted within woman's own natural cycle, which is the beauty, which is women
are in control not clinics being in control
We had, we were able to have a treatment that fitted us and it worked, so yay!
I tend to say, you know, conventional IVF is easy for clinics to manage but natural
and mild IVF is easy for patients
Every time we've mentioned that our baby was born through IVF people's responses are "Gosh
that must have been really hard, really awful" and it wasn't our experience at all, it was
actually really quite positive, we felt very supported by everyone all the way through,
we could ask as many questions as we want, you can get on the phone and ask someone,
the receptionists are brilliantly helpful and so it was fine
It can be emotional and difficult and it can be a lengthy process
You feel well supported and you can get as much help as you need.
