There is still a lot of support
for incumbent Hauraki-Waikato MP Nanaia Mahuta.
According to a Hauraki elder, no doubt Mahuta will take the seat.
Today a meeting was held at Te Pae o Hauraki
for Hauraki-Waikato candidates to share their policies.
12 years Nanaia has represented Hauraki-Waikato,
it seems the support is still there for her from the tribes of Hauraki.
I think a woman will take this seat.
They aren't that old,
but if they work for the people of Hauraki-Waikato,
then Hauraki-Waikato will support them.
It's now a two-horse race between Nanaia Mahuta of Labour
and Angeline Greensill of Mana Party.
Only time will tell.
When Angeline spoke, I thought of her mother and father.
Who ever is fortunate, working with iwi is a major aspect
and that's a big concern for Hauraki.
The current government suppresses our people and our children.
The settlements throughout Hauraki
are controlled by the families and hapu, not by the iwi.
The iwi concept is a government concept.
On Thursday, all candidates will have the opportunity
to say their last words to the people of Waikato
at a special Pou Kai to be held at Te Awamarahi Marae in Tuakau.
