My first internship was at Vera ***. I got there by networking through the Career Center
Fair. I did a lot of market research, especially in the bridal department. We researched a
lot of brides in the field and a lot of clients and basically did research for the market.
I also helped in doing line showings for market week, so after a fashion show, all the buyers
come in, and I helped with setting up the models, making sure all the accessories were
right, just kind of shadowing the stylist. My second internship was at F Schumacher,
which is a high end textile company. Basically, it was a smaller company, but I got to experience
more of a marketing team. I worked directly under the account manager for the brands,
and it was another in house experience. I was totally in charge of setting up the facebook,
blog, and twitter accounts. I also did launch lines for them as well. I did interviews and
line showings for the new products that were going to be going out. My current internship
is at Noise Marketing, where it’s my first experience in a marketing agency. They have
a lot of good clients like Puma, Intel, AOL, Yahoo, Vitamin Water and Coca Cola. I help
the account manager on different accounts, with the facebook accounts, and I basically
go on there and monitor the comments, making sure that there’s no negative publicity
being portrayed for any of the brands. I also help the design team which is my first experience
with actual advertising, so we do a lot of online campaigns, some background on commercial,
things that are going to be used for all the different brands that we do.
