Today, on our 2013 Kia Sorento, well be test fitting the SportRack Frontier Roof Rack for
Raised, Factory Side Rails, part number A21009N. With our brackets already loosened up, well
set one of the crossbars onto the vehicle and measure from a fixed point from the side
rail to make sure that the crossbar is perpendicular to the side rails. We will then bring the
brackets to the underside of the side rails to make sure that when were adjusting the
crossbar they stay in place. Well then measure from the outside of the crossbar to the inside
of the foot, making sure that the crossbars are centered on the vehicle. Once weve done
all this, well go ahead and turn the wing nuts to tighten it down and secure the crossbar
to the vehicle. You may need to open your doors and stand on the interior to get a look
at the inside of the side rail. Now with the front crossbar secured to the
vehicle, we can then put our locking end cap onto the foot of the crossbar and lock it
down. Now with the front crossbar tightened down, we can move to the rear crossbar where
we will repeat the same steps. Once again, with our brackets loosened up well set the
rear crossbar onto the vehicle and measure from the center of the front crossbar to the
center of the rear crossbar, making sure they are same measurement on both the left and
right side of the vehicle. This measurement is important for choosing aftermarket accessories.
Once we have the rear crossbar all even and centered on the vehicle, we can then tighten
it down.
