most front load washer repairs require the removal of the washer's top
front or rear panels
before you attempt this be sure to unplug the appliance first
to remove the washer's rear panel
you may first need to remove the cabinet plugs by lifting and sliding them out
now remove the mounting screws securing the rear panel
and slide the panel down and out
to remove the top panel simply uninstall the screws at the rear
and lift the panel off
the removal of the front panels is more involved
first remove the front lower access panel by uninstalling the mounting
screws
and pulling the panel down and away
assuming the top panel is already removed
carefully pull off the trim ring be aware of this will probably require some
effort
pull out the dispenser drawer
depress the locking tab and remove the drawer from the control panel
remove the mounting screws from the dispenser housing
now use a flat head screw driver to assist in prying loose the control panel
and move the panel out of the way
your next step is to use a small screwdriver to help remove the clamp
from the door boot seal
pull the seal off of the lip of the front panel
remove the front panel mounting screws at the bottom
then at the top
and slide the front panel down and away from the cabinet
disconnect the latch assembly wires and set the front panel and door aside
to reinstall the front panel first connect the latch assembly wires
then slide the panel up under the control panel bracket and secure the
mounting screws at the top
and bottom
position the door boot seal on the lip of the front panel
replace the spring clamp to secure the seal
making sure the spring is at the bottom
reposition the control panel and snap it into place
reinstall the screws in the dispenser housing
replace the dispenser drawer
align the trim ring and snap it into place
replace the front lower access panel and secure it with the screws
reinstall the top panel by sliding it into position
and securing the mounting screws
replace the rear panel by sliding it up into position
and securing it with the screws
snap in the cabinet plugs if available
with the washer reassembled you can now plug the appliance back in
