Have you been thinking about starting an exercise program but seem over just feel overwhelmed?
Hi my name is Jani Roberts, and I'm a certified personal trainer and a graduate of the American
Academy of Nutrition. Today I'd like to share some tips with you as to how you can build
stamina through your exercise program. It's just a great way of getting things moving
by going slowly and gradually. You're just guaranteed success that way. So first what
I'd like to suggest is you start out let's say if you're running you're just going to
start with a very fast walk. OK. Something that's comfortable to you. It leaves you just
slightly out of breath but not huffing and puffing. OK. Just a nice brisk walk. From
that point you're going to try to pick up the pace. Challenge yourself each time you
go to maybe go just a little farther and a little faster. Keep going from there and build
it up. The next thing we're going to do is add some hand weights. Maybe you'll start
out with one pound and then gradually work your way up to three. Now you're incorporating
a great upper body work out and you're doing weight bearing exercise. This is so great
for bone density. You're really gradually building your stamina this way. And you're
going to feel successful in your work out and be more determined than ever to stay on
track and not give up. Just keep progressing slowly. Remember one step at a time. The most
important thing is that you just get started. I'm Jani Roberts. Thanks for joining.
