Are you keeping up with today's fast-paced market place or dying a slow death?
I'm Denise O'Berry and you're watching the "Little Big Show."
Your place for bite size tips that can have a big impact on your bottom line.
Do you own a typewriter? How about rotary dial telephone?
I bet you don't have either one of those unless you're a collector or just happen to like
to hang on to old relics. At the rate things change these days, your
business could be a hit one day and a miss the next.
It's important to keep your eye on the environment around you to keep your business from extinction.
Sadly, though, most small business owners are so busy working on yesterday's problems
that they don't even think about looking ahead. Here are three things you can do to keep your
eye on the prize, while you keep your business afloat.
#1 Talk to your customers. Frequently ask them what tools they're using
to make their lives simpler and make things less time consuming.
#2 Participate in your industry's trade organization. Most trade organizations pride themselves
on staying on the leading edge of what's happening in the industry.
That way you can be the first to know too. #3 Watch for changes that your competitors
are making. Assess whether those changes are going to
lead the pack or just be a flavour of the month.
Once you notice that things are changing, you need to take action, and do it fast, so
you can lead the way, instead of following somebody else.
How do you stay in touch with the market place? Do you have a tip to share or help you can
offer? Please leave your comment below.
And, if you know a small business owner who could use the tip that I shared in this video,
