Hi. I'm Denis and I'm a cheapskate. Today i'm going to be showing you how you can save a few
cents on air fresheners ok here's the thing right here you've seen these
before right
just open it up it's got a little jelly like substance inside and it smells
pretty nice for a little while
but after that it dies up and you have to away get a new one
i'm going to show you how to make it last a lot longer than the
manufacturer
thinks it's gonna last
but before i do
I'm gonna have to let this sit on a shelf for about two or three months or however long it takes to
dry out
and then I'll get back to you
OK, so a little time has
past... well a little time
it's been about eight or ten
months since i started this project
um... but hey not only my cheapskate
but i am a procrastinator too
all right
so here's the deal
our air freshener
has completely
dried up
and the only thing you needed to make this air freshener new again is a glass
of water
so i've got some water
and i've got my dried up old air freshener check it out
if you smell it
it's still smells
very good so that means there's still some of that
um... umm...
odor that the aroma is in there still
the trouble is it's not giving it
off ok the reason it's not giving it off is because this thing is completely dried out now
here's what i'm going to do
i'm going to take the cover off of this thing just pull it
and it pops right off
all right now here's the dried up thing hard as a rock right now all you have to
do is give a little bit about twist maybe
and work it look it comes right off the that thing here's where the glass of
water comes in
I'm gonna take this I'm gonna drop it into the water
and then i'm gonna let it sit there
four about twenty-four hours
dropping water just like that
give it a day
there it is in the glass of water
okay i'm going to let that sit there for about twenty four hours and it's going to
absorb a lot of water it's gonna refresh this thing it'll be like
jelly again and we're back again
it's been little bit more than twenty-four hours now
and as you can see the water in the glass has change I'm gonna bring this up
to the camera again
so you can see
that it has really changed
itself much larger than it used to be
and uh... the waters actually turn red too
here's what we're going to do
i'm going to
pour off the excess water
and uh... I'm gonna
take this thing apart
i'm going to put
the little
jelly thing back on the stem
and we'll be good to go for a while
here we go
I'm gonna to take this
I'm outside by the way
if you can't tell by the background
whooo!
my patio is gonna smell like
raspberries here
the uh... there take this thing out
oh it's slimy
and uh
put it right back on the stem
uh... I might have to...
here we go
okay
here... I'm even gonna do this
take a little of this excess
water and put it in there... how about that
and uh...
I shoulda brought like
a napkin or something something, but that's it
I can put this back together
and uh... there you go
keep the room fresh
for uh... another few weeks anyway
it even closes down a little bit like this
and it'll last the longer
so uh... there you go there's my second in the series
of cheap skate tips
thanks for watching
and have a good day
