A pilot programme to help feed children in the Auckland region
was launched today.
The programme is called Kids Kai Time
and isn't just giving kids breakfast, but lunch as well.
Anzac Pikia was at Sir Edmund Hillary School for the launch today.
The Blues waited on these hungry kids today.
80% of kids here are Pacific Islanders, and 20% are Maori.
Most of them come to school hungry.
They're not only getting breakfast;
lunch is also part of the Kids Kai Time Programme.
This is the first school in Auckland to jump on board this programme.
Lots of companies like BNZ Bank, Just Water and Hubbards
are feeding these children today.
McArthur hopes other companies will help with sponsorship
so that the programme can be taken to other schools throughout NZ.
