Simon: Now, as you might remember from last month
on Valentine’s Day, we ended up posting a video about what Valentine’s Day
is like in Korea.
Ah, that’s how it goes, here in Korea and as you can see my lovely wife has actually
got me some chocolates.
Simon:
Now as you saw in the video I ended up accepting the chocolates that Martina gave me, which
means that, one month later, I have to do something special for Martina. Now it’s
one month later...actually, it’s not. Right now it is March 12th and I’m
taping this video two days in advance so Martina can see this video on White Day. For everybody
else, you can take part of it to, and you’re going to learn something from it, because
on White day there are some things men are supposed to get women.
For example, white mints. Supposedly you give these on white day so I bought some for Martina.
Also, marshmallows. Now it really sucks to buy these in Korea because they’re
really expensive.
Also, white chocolate. Martina is not a big fan of white chocolate, but when in Rome,
do as. So, I got her those.
And, a little stuffed animal, you’re supposed to give little stuffed toys. This
is a little something or another from “My Neighbour Totoro†. Martina likes that
anime so that’s for her.
And also you’re supposed to get white underwear. I got these for around...95 cents
at E-mart. I couldn’t find anything nicer so I got her these big, white ugly granny
***. Hopefully, Martina is not going to put them on and make a big ridiculous dance
out of it.
Now, apart from all the small things, you’re supposed to give a bigger gift as well, so,
as well, for Martina I have a gift. And, right now she’s watching this video and she’s
probably jumping around asking if she can open it. So, yes love, you can now open this
gift, this is for you. Voila!
Of course there are more things to do for White Day, and you should be doing something
romantic; it’s like Valentine’s Day. Now I can’t tell you what else
we have planned for the rest of the day because that would spoil the surprise.
One last thing, I’m going to try something very scary right now. I want to give a special
white day message to Martina in korean, so here we go, let’s give this a shot.
You are my friend, you are my wife, and I love you.
Now, if I butchered the Korean, please forgive me, as you know I’m really bad at Korean,
I actually just translated that off of Yahoo Babelfish so I’m really sorry to those
Korean speakers out there if I got this wrong, but then again this message isn’t for
you, it’s for my lovely wife. So, Martina, I love you, Happy White Day.
